It would be very useful to be able to combine several physical devices into a single "logical" device, for purpose of synchronization.
My current MP3 player has internal storage and external (SD card) storage. These are seen by the computer operating system as two separate devices. Applications such as Windows Media Player then manage these as separate devices. This makes it difficult to synchronize music without the risk of duplicate files ending up across these two devices.
Previously, I owned another brand of MP3 player (Rio) which came with some proprietary software for synchronization, and it grouped the internal and external storage together into one logical device. This was very useful, and I would love to be able to do this with my new player (Sandisk Sansa).
