Description

Hi, I have been using Jajuk now for about two months and I am getting used to the interface. There are a couple of requests I do have. 1. I dislike the fact that when I create a play list the list does not save on the first attempt. If I exit the program or (gosh forbid) I clean the queue then there is a list in name with out any music associated with it. 2. I like to have a default folder for my playlists. Since I have had one for itunes I added it to jajuk and followed the directions for "adding a folder/device." The program is still a bit schizophrenic about automatically mounting devices and folders. On top of that it DOES NOT read music CD's. I still have to rip CDS from itues or WinMedia? player. 3. The GUI could be greatly improved by the ability to allow the user to remove unused icons (Example for me: Radio, DJ, Random, Newest, Finish ablum). The ability to switch the side icons would be nice too.

Thank you for listening. I really like this product and would like to stick with it I am just wishing some of the components could be a little more automated and a little more personalization without the excel like programing language in the preferences.

Hi, I have been using Jajuk now for about two months and I am getting used to the interface. There are a couple of requests I do have.

Hi, thanks for your feedback

1. I dislike the fact that when I create a play list the list does not save on the first attempt. If I exit the program or (gosh forbid) I clean the queue then there is a list in name with out any music associated with it.

Sorry, we don't get it. Do you mean a regular playlist (m3u) or the queue playlist ?

2. I like to have a default folder for my playlists. Since I have had one for itunes I added it to jajuk and followed the directions for "adding a folder/device." The program is still a bit schizophrenic about automatically mounting devices and folders.

What do you mean by "schizophrenic" ?

On top of that it DOES NOT read music CD's. I still have to rip CDS from itues or WinMedia? player.

There is already a feature request (#407) but CD ripping is unlikely to be developed into jajuk. Our position on this is that very good programs like CDex do perfect work there and we would have very few value-added. Jajuk doesn't read audio CD neither indeed. It is very low priority for us because jajuk is intended to help managing large collections of online music (directories) and far less adapted to CD playing than regular players. I suggest you fine others open source programs like VLC or mplayer in that purpose. I created ticket #1803 for you to track this request though.

3. The GUI could be greatly improved by the ability to allow the user to remove unused icons (Example for me: Radio, DJ, Random, Newest, Finish album).

We could add some options to hide some icons but it seems pretty complicated and could confuse most users... You may want to create a separate ticket for that if you wish.

The ability to switch the side icons would be nice too.

Note that you can already set the size of the perspectives chooser icons from preferences view. Indeed, we could go even further and hide them (but in this case, we'll have to add a perspective top menu to allow perspectives switching). I created task #1804.

Thank you for listening. I really like this product and would like to stick with it I am just wishing some of the components could be a little more automated and a little more personalization without the excel like programing language in the preferences.

Thanks
