I don't know if it is possible, but:

It was nice, when the lyrics window in the "player" view of Jajuk can automaticly scroll down. It means, when the singer is singing (or whatever) I can read the actual text line in the vertical middle of the lyrics window.

Do you know what I mean?

Hmmm... I think in this case there are a little bit more informations needed in the lyrics database: For example to which time of the song which text line of the lyrics must be showed.

In the Catalog perspective, mouse over an album cover pop up a new window giving more infos on the albums. In some case it is very useful, but sometime, it is just a pain. I am proposing to do the following changes to improve user experience:

• If the mouse stays more than 1 second over the album cover, then display the more info window
• bypass the 1 second wait by pressing a key: aka shift, control, or alt? (I like control key)

The best will be to have the 1 second value to be configurable in the configuration panel, hence allowing user to set it for example to 0 sec waiting, 10 second waiting, or even -1 (deactivating). If deactivated, we should have the choice in the right click menu on the album to see the more info window.

do have a problem with key shortcuts for copy, cut and paste. I found out when I tried to edit some track infos in the table. On Mac OS X you use APPLE-C, APPLE-X and APPLE-V for copy, cut and paste operations.

kind of related to #844: When displaying albums by artists, an album with multiple artists are displayed using one of the random artists. For example, the Concert for Bengladesh, is credited to Billy Preston. Not sure why Billy was selected as the artist as his songs appear somewhere in the middle of the album.

Not sure how, but Windows Media Center allows entry of Artist on an album level, as well as each song. So in song mode, you see songs by artist, in artist mode, you can assign the album to Various Artist, or give it a designator like "/George Harrison w/Various Artist". I think it is important to maintaing the artist for the song/track, but would like to group the albums by the main artist.

I would like to have a disc-cache feature for mp3-discs/network drives. so if i want to hear a file from cd/dvd, i put in the disc in the cdrom-drive, the track is copied to harddisc, enqueued in the playlist and then played. while it is played, i can remove the cd/dvd and then enqueue the next song ... what do you think?

I have a batch file that will create .jajuk profile in my user profile folder and will then link (using junctions) to my external drives profile folder. This allows Jajuk to see the profile folder on my external drive. But my issue now is getting Jajuk to use variables so I can specify my devices location to %USERPROFIlE%\My Documents\My Music\Volume01, so I can link that folder to my external music folder. So this way no matter what drive letter is asigned to the drive it will still see the profile and music folder. Which right now is true for profile but not music. Another though would be for Jajuk to read a config file that tells it where the profile folder will be and device locations relative to jajuk location. Bottom line make Jajuk portable"

In some cases, thumb displayed in album popup is not the last default cover selected by the user

I believe we should add new buttons to make the GUI more user friendly: Please see the attachment. Note below:

• in 1, we should have a button to set the ambiance to any. (going in the menu and scrolling is too much time consuming)
• in 2, clicking on the magnify icon should clear the box next to it. (hitting backspace as many time as character entered is too much time consuming)

It works properly but maybe it would be interesting to have the possibility of modifying the content of the downloaded tags and the possibility of viewing more fields (i.e. year, liryc, photo, artist...)

• words in "" (e.g.: "WordA WordB") to a search on the exact string: WordA WordB
• words without "" (e.g.: WordA WordB) or starting with a "+" (e.g.: +WordA +WordB), search is made on WordA or WordB
• word staring with a minus (e.g.: -) are pruned

In Playlist editor view using the "Use Push when dropping" option, when draging an item to the same view, it is the playing item and not the dragged item that is used

Jajuk ignores items in playlists that are not known in the collection.

The following attends to describe the future playlist. The word playlist is used as the new playlist editor described here. Most of the function described here are already available using the "new" playlist in the playlist view.

Change to the core

1. The playing Queue playlist (or FIFO) will be removed.

Playlist aspect

1. The playlist aspect will be similar to the current "new" playlist in the playlist view.
2. Playlist tracks can be sorted/ordered using the tab user's customizable fields (such as: track number/artists/albums/file name/favourite/hits/...).
3. Track or selection of tracks can manually moved up/down
4. Track or selection of tracks can be added to the playlist using Drag and Drop at the position they are dropped.
5. Track or selection of tracks can be removed using keyboard key "delete".

playlist behaviour

1. The playlist tracks will be remembered from the last time the user used Jajuk.
2. If the user was listening to music when he quitted Jajuk, then next time Jajuk opens, it will start to play the playlist. If the user was not listening to music (hence player was stopped), then no music will be played once Jajuk opens.
3. A fully played track is not removed from the playlist.
4. If "planned track is used", planned tracks will go at the end of the playlist.
5. "stop" in the player doesn't clear the playlist but stops the music.
6. Hitting stop, and then play, will play from the beginning the track we were listening before hitting stop.

Following buttons will be at the top of the "playlist editor" (most of them are already present in the current playlist editor).

5. move track/selection to the top

8. move track/selection to the bottom
9. randomize playlist
10. clear the playlist
11. select all
12. select none
13. invert selection
14. save playlist as...

Audio player

1. Next track button in the audio player will play next track in the playlist. If we are at the bottom, it will play the first one.
2. Previous track button in the audio player will play previous track in the playlist. If we are at the top, we will play the last one.
3. To avoid complexity, buttons in the player tab should be in this order:
   1. previous track
   2. fast rewind
   3. play/pause
   4. stop
   5. fast forward
   6. next track

Right click menu in other Jajuk views

On a selection in the "physical files tree/table", "logical tracks tree/table", "album catalogue", etc...

1. Actions (such as "Play"/"Push" from the right click menu, double click to play) will act in this playlist.
2. Action "Plays", will empty the playlist, add tracks to the playlist and start playing from the beginning.
3. Action "Push", will add the pushed tracks to the playlist. If the audio player is paused or stopped, no music will be played.

In preferences view, the "Defaults" button should restore only the current tab

Could you please check that all the methods getting data from net use the Preferences/Network/ timeout time strictly. Because I often see that Jajuk hangs when net stops suddenly.

Just try disabling internet suddenly when Jajuk is playing and then try to change views in Jajuk; you might notice that Jajuk stops responding.

Physical tree / select a void directory -> play : jajuk is frozen

This can be caused by a bug in XGL and Beryl that don't support Java applications. See http://wiki.jajuk.info/index.php/FAQ#I_get_totally_or_partially_blank_screens_when_using_XGL

After few listenings (2-3 songs sometimes more), mplayer stop playing and up to 100% of my CPU.

I'm running Jajuk under Fedora 8 with mplayer-1.0-0.88.rc2.lvn8 from Livna repository.

there is nothing particular in jajuk.log.

Nothing wrong when using mplayer in standalone mode.
